Description

This picture illustrates how the 24-hour boycott of Jewish industries was enforced in Germany Saturday. The pickets were forbidden to enter boycotted premises or to damage them in any way, being restricted to standing outside and warning away customers. This incident occurred in the earlier stages of the anti-jewish campaign in Berlin, when the picketting of this particular American chain store was motivated by the belief that its founder was a Jew. The company denied this. Stamp: Apr 2 1933
