Description

The atmosphere on the frontier between Austria and Germany at present is very tense following the widening of the breach between the two countries on the Nazi question. Frontier guards on both sides of the border have been strengthened. On the Austrian side reinforcements have been recruited from the Heimwehr organization, and their special duty is to see that no “unauthorized” person enters from Germany. The above photo shows Heimwehr men on special frontier guard duty holding up a car on the border at Kufstein. Credit line (ACME)  6/28/33 Stamp: ACME Newspictures, Inc. Stamp: Ref. Dept.
