953181 — Watch your credit... International News Photos Sub sunk by “Catalina” flying boat— England..... While on patrol recently in the Mediterranean Sea a “Catalina” flying boat of the Coastal Command sighted and sunk a U-boat. Here we see the U-boat on the water with its hull raked by machine-gun fire of the “Catalina.” When the sub went to its watery grave the captain of the “Catalina” tried to pick up the survivors but the water was so rough that it damaged the hull of the flying boat.
